Gettin' there

Been working pretty much non stop since Friday afternoon. Despite a 10 hour setback, I am making progress. I am in the wiring phase right now, I am glad I am not color blind.

I do have all the oil lines routed, and the clutch cable installed. That pinstriping on the oil tank sure looks good.

My plan is to start it, or try to get it started this week. I would like to test ride it next weekend.

The tank

Just got a call telling me to quit f-in with ya, you said you were going to post pics, now do it!

I was thinking about not posting the pic, for fear of spoiling, but this thing can not be appreciated in a picture. I am astonished at this guys craftsmanship.

Blown away

I am completely blown away with how the pin striping came out. Stand by for some pics!

Week of CHROME!

This has been a chrome filled week. Set out West with my posse at 0500 this morning, found a river out there and put my boat in it. It wasn't but 10 minutes in the first run we had a little native come calling. Great way to start the day!

Darian made quick work of that one and we side drifted down to one of our favorite holes. There we waited for a boat load of guys to move out so we could start our assault. Well they didn't move. They were laying the smack to a large pod of fish and didn't wanna move off them, I don't blame them. They got 7 up there. We slid down, and I told the boys I wanted to get my plugs into the top of the next hole, well we did and sure enough, a fish was hiding in there. And man what a fish! This maybe end up being my fish of the season.......we are guessing it was near 16 lbs. It put up an amazing fight.

A shot of that monster in the water

We hammered that spot for a while longer and Darian drifted up a keeper for the day. Compared to the hatchery fish we are accustomed to, this one is super nice!

Brad crackered one other fish on a jig and all was right with the world. The sun was out, and it was in the 50's, lots of fish in the river. I couldn't ask for more........oh yeah, strippers.
I finished off the day by catching a seagull MID AIR. It wasn't happy about it and tried to remove a finger on the release. Rats........

I had a great time, and look forward to floating with you guys again!

More chrome

I got more chrome today. Not the slimy scaly kind though. I finally got my chrome pieces for the bike back and they look great! I have the handlebars set up and once I get the wires passed I will post a picture, it is going to be blinding in the summer sun!!! Sissy bar turned 90% great, it wasn't the best piece to start with but it looks pretty darn good. I got it mounted on the swing arm and it will go on the frame when I get that back next week. Stand by for a picture!

There they are, the control housings are not in there yet, I am working on the wiring. I think those are going to look great when they get on the bike.

First Oregon Metalmouth!

Took a buddy from work fishing today. He wanted to catch his first Oregon steelhead. He has caught countless boot snakes in Idaho (where is that anyway?) but not one here. I said, gityurass in my boat and let's do this.

Shoved off at 0700 and had the first one in no time......preceded to catch 3 more, all of them about the same. But man were they fresh!!!! Chrome chrome chrome! My camera only got one pic, he is going to send me some more later.

Dennis, happy at last!

Me, with a nice little chrome dome

They don't get much brighter than this!

Nice work Dennis, and nice fishing with you. Your not as scary as the people at work told me.

I dusted off the old steelhead rods, I get to go tomorrow......

That'll do it!

Just as, and many people thought, Chuck knocked the socks out of Randy, retaining the title and retiring Randy from the UFC. Both awesome warriors. I love this crap!

Herring herring everywhere....no pickles

Woke up early this morning and met Mr. D at his place in North Porkland. We set out into the rain for Woodland Washington. There we were to meet the Puget Sound bait company and pick up some herring, 4320 herring to be exact. Each year I buy a case of herring in a bulk order to fish with. This saves me quite a bit of cash and makes things easier when it comes time to brining them up to head out on the hunt.

Mr. D cuddling herring after a fun night

Now when I go to North Porkland, I always find something to laugh at. Today was no exception. Some poor soul lived in a spot that was prone to theft, I guess, and the driver windows on both his cars were knocked out. You and I, being perfectly sain, and not from N. Porkland, would put plastic over the windows to keep the rain out. It has been raining here for like 45 days now..... Not this guy, he used towels. I would think that would bring in more water than having nothing at all. Who knows.

To each his own.

Tonight is the UFC 57, I am pumped! Prediction, Couture is falling to Liddell. Night night Randy.

For the newbies

I recently received a few emails saying that they were new to my blog, and have been reading about this motorcycle project but never saw the bike when it was mocked up. (Is that a run-on sentence?)

So for those of you who are new, this is the bike I am building:

I completely built the bike, than tore it back down so it could be painted, powder coated and chromed. Those are the things I am waiting for now. I am estimating 4 weeks until I turn the key and listen to it roar! Stay tuned.

Pinstriping away

Just got back from dropping off the tins and frame with the pinstriper in Scappoose.
Dino's Graphics is going to hook this thing up! And for a killer price I can live with. He actually seemed pretty excited to do this job, and that is a good thing. He said 2 weeks, so the theory that "WAITING" is the biggest part of building a custom motorcycle is definitely true.

There's a bike I can relate to

Cruising through some motorcycle sites yesterday I came upon this. I don't know if it is a sponsored bike, or some nut case who loves the drink more than most people. That trailer has a 'jaeger tap' built into it. It keeps up to 4 bottles of jaeger at 4 degrees Celsius for your drinking enjoyment. Something else.

Drink up!
